Condition on arrival
The compound ships lyophilised, that is as a dry solid, in a sealed vial.
Temperature
Store as stated in the record for that batch. For most compounds refrigerated or frozen.
Light and moisture
Store away from direct sunlight and moisture, keep the vial closed.
Warmth in transit
Brief temperature swings during shipping are normal for a dry solid. Store it properly soon after arrival.
Laboratory handling
To be handled only in a suitable laboratory setting by qualified personnel wearing standard protective equipment.
Documentation
Carry the batch number through any internal processing so the link to the report is preserved.
Keep the link
Carry the batch number.
As soon as a vial is processed or decanted in the laboratory, the link to the report is lost unless the batch number travels with it. Note it in your internal records before the label goes out of sight.
